This ceramic sculpture consists of a red stoneware honeycomb matrix with porcelain tendrils running through it. The entire piece was dipped in a shino glaze and fired to cone 10 in a reduction atmosphere. The different clay bodies shrink at different rates during the firing process creating tension in the piece, and pulling the tendrils apart in places.
